Picture was taken approaching the finish line at the annual Lasalle Mariner's Fighting Island Regatta in the 1970's.
Dacron was the newest material, cross-cut spinnakers were hot, and double slotting with the 170% genoa was common practice during this period. Spinnaker green on one side, white on the other side, was designed so the competion would have a hard time finding you in the rest of the fleet.
